The Best Meat Lover’s Pizza for Your Outdoor Pizza Oven
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Make the crust – by combining the brown sugar, warm water, yeast, salt, and bread flour in a mixer or food processor.
If you are using a mixer, turn it on low for about three minutes until all of the ingredients are combined together.
If you are using a food processor, pulse for 10 seconds at a time until everything has been mixed together thoroughly. Do not over process the dough because this will make it too tough to work with later on.
3. Knead the dough –
Turn your dough onto a floured surface or cutting board and knead for an additional 5 minutes to form into desired shape before transferring to baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
For best results, the dough should be very soft and tender to touch.
4. Bake in oven for about 30 minutes, or until the crust has browned to your liking (about 20-25 minutes is usually best).
If at any time during this process the dough becomes too dry, add a few tablespoons of water in order to moisten it up again before returning it to the oven.
5. Let it cool
When finished baking, remove pizza from oven and set aside to cool while you prepare the toppings.
The sauce should already be prepared prior to cooking; simply heat it up if needed . To make things easier on yourself, try making homemade pizza sauce by combining tomato paste with hot water or using a store bought jarred version.
6. Add Toppings
Once pizza has cooled enough to be handled, top with sauce and then your desired toppings (cheese, peppers, peppersoni, sausage). Make sure to mix up the cheese types that you use; each type adds its own unique flavor to your dish so experiment! The finishing touch is a light sprinkling of Parmesan over the top once everything else is in place.[/ARTICLE TEXT]
7. Cook the toppings
Transfer baking sheet back into oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until toppings are melted together as desired or until crust has browned slightly more.
Remove from oven again after it’s finished cooking. Let sit for 5 minutes before slicing into pieces and serving.
This recipe takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete, though most of that is just waiting for the dough to bake into the perfect texture! It serves 4 people.
